No Rules Chess 2.0

Hello and thanks for playing No Rules Chess.

I finally had some time to overhaul the code of this project and added/changed some features:

Add your own pieces

You can add images to the board! Finally, another rule can be broken.

You can do it in two ways:

1. Drag and drop an image file from your computer on to the board
2. Copy an image and paste it into the game

This all happens locally in your browser, nothing is uploaded anywhere.  Keep in mind that big files can make your browser laggy.

Single select

Select a piece by clicking it. This is the new way to choose which piece you want to remove (X key) or clone (SPACE), replacing the slightly awkward drag interaction.

Multiple select

Hold down the SHIFT key, click and drag to select multiple pieces. Great for cleaning up after you've held down SPACE, cloned a 100+ pieces and made a mess.

Snap to grid

Make sure the game is in focus (click on it). Hold down the CONTROL key and drag a piece to make it snap to the grid.
